This EuroVelo 6 stage starts in Franche-Comté, following the Canal du Rhône au Rhin, then, as you slip into Burgundy, it takes you on to the Saône River. Here, you join La Voie Bleue (The Blue Way), leading beside the Saône to the town of Chalon. Boating traditions are strong around St-Jean-de-Losne. This stage is accessible to all.

Greenway alongside the Doubs, then beside the canal up to Tavaux. Note the signposted detour at Tavaux, to avoid a major industrial site. Next the track continues along the canal up to the Saône, taking you to St-Jean-de-Losne along the Voie Bleue.

    La Commanderie to Dole

    On the left bank of the Doubs, opposite the old town, La Commanderie is where all the shows, sporting events, trade fairs and exhibitions take place attracting people from all over Dole and beyond.

    Collegiate Church Steeple to Dole

    This 75 metre Gothic steeple - very characteristic of the region's architecture towards the end of the Middle Ages, dominates the entire town. This is a must-see for anyone who loves religious buildings!

    Musée des beaux Arts de Dole

    This museum, set in the Officer's Pavilion, as a superb example of regional military architecture of the 18th century, and can boast rich and varied collections in the fields of archaeology, paintings and ancient sculpture (15th/19th centuries), contemporary art (Narrative Figuration, New Realism). It also presents a series of temporary exhibitions.

    Birthplace of Louis Pasteur to Dole

    This unique museum traces the life and scientific work of this genius, in the house where he was born. Various museum spaces show off a 19th century tannery, the family life of Louis Pasteur and his scientific work, including crystallography, fermentation, the invention of pasteurisation, germs and the importance of good hygiene, the rabies vaccine, and more.
